The saga commenced when Steven Allen, Blossom's owner, departed with his family, unaware that his beloved canine companion would go missing, let alone be stolen.
Blossom's escapade began one Friday night when she managed to slip out of Allen's house without a collar. Although a vigilant neighbor quickly found her, Blossom lacked identification. The neighbor made a Facebook post about the missing dog and contacted San Luis Obispo County Animal Services. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office picked up Blossom, securing her in an overnight kennel at the county Animal Services shelter.
