Unaware of the potential health issues caused by the dye, the man took the dog to the refugee camp, sparking the outrage of some residents.
Soon, authorities were notified of the dog's situation.
A group of rescuers promptly responded to the complaint, and volunteers arrived in Schimatari to take custody of the pet.
The affectionate and unique dog was brought to a shelter and later named Scarlet, partly due to the color that covered her body.
Scarlet received veterinary attention and was found to be in fairly good health.
At the shelter, concerns arose about her health, particularly regarding the possibility of respiratory problems due to the smell of the paint.
